Transport for London (TfL) was created in 2000 as the integrated body responsible for the Capital's transport. Having selected and purchased the SAP Business Suite, Transport for London engaged in the implementation and ongoing rollout of one of the largest SAP installations in the UK.

The TfL team, based in London, replaced all legacy systems including Finance, Procurement, HRMS and Time Control systems with a full implementation of SAP. Using iTrain’s Stratus eLearning platform as an ideal training solution for TfL employees, numerous bespoke modules and training programmes were developed.

Enabling Change

iTrain were initially appointed in 2005 as the major training partner for the programme and have worked with TfL continually throughout the project life cycle. iTrain were responsible for aiding an extensive TfL team to develop and deliver a complete range of SAP training programmes to super user and end users across the SAP business suite.

With a highly skilled team of SAP specialists, iTrain provided on-site training across London and the South-East of England to support a highly complex rollout of the new business processes and procedures. The iTrain team was responsible for incorporating new procedures into the classroom and eLearning programme materials. A strong focus was also placed on the customisation of the new system and for the business process changes associated with the programme. iTrain’s services were instrumental in the effective re-organisation and realisation of cashable savings for TfL.

iTrain continued supporting TfL in the delivery of the SAP CRM solution, further HR roll-out activities, the update of existing training materials and the delivery of an organisation-wide change management project, in order to ensure that TfL fully realised the benefits of its SAP investment. iTrain has also continued to support the TfL SAP implementation programme with a five year agreement supporting Stratus eLearning.
